A COMMON CAUSE
 

Menstruating is a natural part of life for girls and women all over the world, but although nearly half of the global population are female, a good portion don’t have access to feminine hygiene of any type to help them manage their menstrual cycles. In third world countries, like Fiji, for many young girls, menses becomes a barrier to education, resulting in missing significant amounts of schooling every month. An educated female population is not only a moral imperative and social right, it is the foundation of female empowerment in order to promote the productiveness of the workforce and the health of the nation. Investment in educational gender equality decreases nation poverty in the long run and improves women’s literacy, which gives every woman the ability to participate in leadership and decision-making in their communities. This can help create a better world!

HOW IT WORKS

ARC will serve and support women who have elected to run a race for which they will create an individual fundraising page for FGF. We will support women who want to start running for the first time or those who want to progress in their running journey.

ARC graduates/coaches/mentors/friends are encouraged to identify a local race to run and fundraise on behalf of FGF, with an option to become a team captain and recruit participants who would also fundraise (10 weeks lead time recommended before race)

When a race has been elected, ARC will reach out to the race coordinators to initiate a potential collaboration.

Women who have never run before can apply to the ARC 8-week program with full support

Women who have run but would like to achieve a new distance or PR will be offered a 3tier option through ARC and True Potential Running to support their training.

Each woman racing will be set up with an individualized fundraising page (Just Giving)

Teams will be centralized through the ARC website so that we can all cheer you on!!

ARC runners will be empowered through the mental and physical benefits of running AND giving.

Girls in Fiji and Sierra Leone will receive washable sanitaru supplies(a sustainable solution) and education on menses to help aid with missed school during menstruation. Help us put into motion the ripple effect of female empowerment!
